In the beginning, the odds of birthing this new Crisis Pregnancy Center were slim to none. In late 2003, a group of individuals came together to help build a Crisis Pregnancy Center facility. Throughout the construction, the Lord showed Himself faithful to meet all of our needs, however, at the end of the project, the founder decided not to go forward with the ministry.
Therefore, the Beltway 8 South Crisis Pregnancy Center began on January 9, 2004, at ground zero. There were six volunteers, only three of whom could counsel clients. We began with a vision and very limited resources. We had no clients and little funds to advertise. The Blessing Room shelves were empty and we could offer little material assistance to our clients.
By year-end 2004, we saw the ministry as an enormous blessing. Every time we were presented with a desperate need, God revealed His faithfulness. We received favor from many organizations and government agencies to complete the business aspects of the ministry. Policies, procedures, classroom curriculum, literature, and Bibles were in place to serve our clientele. Wonderful volunteers and donors came to walk alongside to help us turn a dream into a reality. We were eyewitnesses to God’s intervention for life and His transforming grace in the lives of clients.
